Make 2017 a year of growth for your lettings business

2016 was a year of change and 2017 will be no different as political, economic, social, technological, legislative and environmental factors impact on everybody. The market place is becoming more competitive with new entrants and new technologies to the fore. In lettings the proposed future ban on tenant fees means focusing minds on alternative solutions and ways of maximising income and profits.

Sales volumes are down and are likely to continue at lower levels. The private rental sector has grown significantly in recent years and whilst this growth may now slow, there are now around 5 million properties that are being let and managed across the UK. That is around 20% of households. If there are 10,000 homes in your location that means around 2,000 will be in the private rental sector and if the average rent is £1200 per month then over £3 million in fees is available every year.
